A. Guidelines for Program Grants … 1. Grants will be made to public agencies, town departments, and private not for profit organizations to assist in funding programs and services that directly benefit Watertown residents age 55 and older. 2.The Marshall Home Fund will consider requests for grants of up to $10,000. 3.Priority will be given to innovative programs that address currently unmet needs. 4.The Marshall Home Fund encourages programs that maximize the use of volunteers. 5.The Marshall Home Fund encourages community organizations to work together to develop joint programs. 6.The Marshall Home Fund encourages applicants to seek funding for programs from multiple sources. 7.The following areas of need are examples of those in which the Marshall Home Fund is interested. However, applications for other programs that improve the quality of life for elderly people will be considered. a. respite services b. volunteer visitation and companionship programs c. affordable and accessible housing d. transportation to elder day care or for non-medical purpose e. handyman services f. homemaking services, including cleaning g. improving access to health insurance and prescription medications h. preventative medical outreach work for the elderly i. dental health pilot program j. augmenting existing mental health services k. case consultation for families of Alzheimer’s patients l. general education and entertainment for the elderly m. essential amenities, such as functional appliances (stove, refrigerator, air conditioner) for the elderly
B. Requirements for Program Grants … 1. To apply for a Marshall Home Fund Program Grant, completely fill out and sign our Program Grant Application Form and submit electronically together with a proposed budget showing your sources of funds and projected expenditures to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are available on line here. 2. Applications for program/service grants are due no later than March 15, 2017 for grants made in spring, or as noted on any subsequent RFP's issued within the calendar year. 3.You must submit a follow-up report on your project by the anticipated project ending date or twelve (12) months after you receive funding for your project, whichever comes first. Follow-up report forms are available from Marshall Home Fund. 4. Applicants must also submit a detailed financial report showing how grant monies received from the Marshall Home Fund were spent for this program. The financial report is due by the anticipated project ending date or twelve (12) months after you receive funding for your project, whichever comes first. Please note that upon reviewing the financial report, the Marshall Home Fund reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to request that any unspent balance of funds received from the Marshall Home Fund be returned to the Marshall Home Fund.
C. Additional Information about Program Grants … 1.Grant awards will be made to fund projects for a twelve (12) month period, which may begin at any time during the calendar year. 2.By awarding any particular grant, the Marshall Home Fund in no way implies that ongoing grants will be made for the same purpose, although recipients may reapply in the future.
